It was the year that I had just lost my husband. As we approached Father’s Day, I realized that we didn’t have a father in the family. For me it was a lump of emptiness. We had two men and a boy but no fathers.
My creative daughter came to the rescue and decided that we would have a WAG celebration or We Appreciate our Guys. We hand made a paper gold crown and used some purple cloth to create a royal purple cloak. Each man in turn wore the paper crown and purple cloak as we all told them every little and big thing that we appreciated about them. It provided lots of laughter and fun and eased that empty spot in us. We also made some wonderful new Father’s Day memories.
This Father’s Day don’t forget to do your own WAG time. Tell the guys in your family all the little and big things that you appreciate about them.
