La Costa Glen’s long-time tap dancing instructor, Yvonne Romano, comes to work on her bicycle, “whenever I can,” she says. Energetic and enthusiastic, she has taught tap dancing at LCG for 12 years. The classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays at 1:00pm, with an added half hour for beginners on Monday at 12:30.

Yvonne’s always looking for “new kids” as she calls her students, explaining that she had a dance studio for 25 years. “It’s good exercise,” she notes, “We have happy feet here.”

Marian Schrader, one of her students coming for class at Catalina Hall on a Monday, confides, “The teacher says we never do anything wrong!” She adds, “She makes it fun.”

Certainly, LCG’s tappers showed just how happy they are in this year’s resident show, as they do every year.

Yvonne also teaches Line Dance here on Wednesdays at 2:00pm and it has grown in popularity, especially with our Line Dance Nights.

You don’t have to be an expert to join; you can be a beginner or fit in wherever you are – just enjoy having “happy feet.”
